Caring for Sligo’s Eyes for Over 80 Years

Sweeney’s Opticians has been part of the heart of Sligo, for more than eight decades, four of those in She’ll House, Wine Street. Established over 80 years ago by the Sweeney family, the practice has long been known for its warm welcome, trusted service, and dedication to exceptional eye care for generations of families across the North West.

Today, that proud tradition continues under the ownership of Sligo native, Martha Ward, who took over the practice more than 10 years ago. With a passion for both clinical excellence and community care, Martha and her team have continued to build on Sweeney’s strong local reputation — blending modern technology and fashion-forward eyewear with the same friendly, personal approach that has defined the practice since day one.
